I started mint & poppy as a creative outlet for myself when I became unfulfilled by my big girl corporate job…

You see, I always followed the straight and narrow path – went to school, graduated in a program I really liked (Public Relations) and got a corporate job right out of school. I thought I had truly “made it!” and had achieved something I thought I really wanted.

But as I started to get deeper into the position I began to feel bored, unmotivated and burnt out. Thinking a new job would fix how I was feeling, I started interviewing at larger corporations.

A couple of new positions later I realized, it wasn’t the job itself that was unfulfilling, it was something much deeper. I knew something had to change and that I couldn’t keep going on this way. It was time for me to live a life of freedom, on my own terms!

I always had a passion for design and even though I had no real experience in the industry, I dove head first into all things branding and web design. I took courses, invested in coaches and did all the Googling. I watched YouTube videos, went to workshops and met with other business owners to learn from their experiences. It was a lot of trial and error but I was dedicated to putting in the work.
